Phong Nha Ke Bang, Caves, Lagoons and Lush Forest

Phong Nha Ke Bang national park is tucked away between Laos and the coast, almost 200 kilometers North of Hue. Reachable by rail or plane through Dong Hoi city, it is place to natural scenic wonders and home to friendly locals. The jungle, the river, the cascades, the single trails and the narrow winding concrete roads are making the spot a paradise for any active traveler in research of fun. Adding to this the beauty of the sceneries, the biggest caves in the world’s region and a simple but nice little lodge, and you get a must-visit spot for your journey across Vietnam.

Pick up from Dong Hoi train station (or airport), there’s time for a quick refreshment and breakfast at a local restaurant before heading to Phong Nha area.

Upon arrival at the buffer zone of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National park, we’ll start with a light trek to its botanical garden. Located in the centre of the park, the garden is a home to Gio waterfall, Vang Anh lake, a prototype exhibition house. The 3 km route on natural pathway gives you a closer look to the park’s plant nursery and precious and rare plant areas.

In the afternoon, we’ll board a small motor boat to the Phong Nha cave. It takes about 20 minutes on the river to reach the spot, pristine and beautiful. We turn off the boat’s engine when entering the cave. You’ll also have the chance to get off the boat and stroll around. We then cruise back to another pier and drive further toward the national park on a peaceful countryside road to Chay Lap village. Dinner and overnight at the Chay Lap Farmstay.

In the morning, with weather permits, we have about 1 hour exploring Chay Lap area either by bicycle or kayak.

At 9:30 – we go along a small winding road to the Paradise cave. Discovered in 2005, it is 31 km long, 100 to 150 meters high. Impressive. The amount of walk will depend on your preference; we just make sure you to provide you enough to get a striking feeling of grandeur. 

We then get back in the car and drive to a local restaurant for fresh drinks and to taste their specialty: roasted chicken and veggies. After lunch, time will be on your own. With time permits, you can try on some fun activities in the Dark Cave zone (ticket at your own cost) or just relaxing by the Chay river.
Around 15:00 – the car transfers us to Dong Hoi either at the beach, or at the airport or train station upon your preference and the suite of your program. End of our services.

1. The tour starts and ends in Dong Hoi. Please free fell to contact our travel consultants if you need our assistants on plane/train/bus ticket booking. 

2. The program may not be availabe in flooding season, which falls from mid October to mid November.
